Windows Vista

Are you wondering whether to upgrade to Windows Vista?  Vista was released worldwide on January 30th, 2007.  The new operating system features a new user interface, improvements to security and the internal operating system.  When to upgrade depends upon some factors about your current IT environment.

  1. How old are your current desktops?  If you were planning to buy new desktops this year anyway, then this is a good time to upgrade to Vista.
  2. How much memory is available on your current desktops?  It's generally understood that at least 1Gb of memory is necessary to run Vista.
  3. Do you like to be leading edge or would you rather wait until more of the software defects have been patched by Microsoft?
